Raw Food
Raw food is just another form of extremism. It takes a very good idea: increased consumption of fruits and vegetables, and can take it too far. The reasons to follow an all-raw diet are just bad logic, and can cause great harm. The Raw Foods Website I used in the video: www.living-foods.com Cooking and human evolution: www.sciencedaily.com

Yes these tricks occur but for the most part they are weeded out. The peer review process results in most drugs that are developed being brought to market. Remember that, the suppossedly corrupt system rejects the vast majority of research conducted by the companies you claim control the entire process. Why is that? Yes tricks and scams sometime slip through the net but for the most part the scientifc method greats great results that benefit humanity.
@wjestick
And yet you are the one that is blindly accepting the studies of a few anti-fluoride studies. Why do you accept their findings over the consensus of science? What criteria do you use to determine whether the few reports on fluroide that say its bad are more accurate than the far greater wealth of reports that say its fine and beneficial to health. I put it to you that you are selecting which information you accept based on pre-determined notions of what you want to be true.

@evilreligion
You aren’t getting it! Read slowly. I agree with your standards of proof. I agree with evidence based science.
I am telling you, that people calling themselves scientists, are using the machinery to promote false science, like a virus uses the ribosome.
A Texas school 99% vaccinated had a measles outbreak. What kind of testing allowed that? Before you dismiss it as a one-off do some research first. When you reply, tell me how vaccines are actually tested.
@wjestick
You are citing one example of a Texas school that had a measles outbreak as if this is evidnece against vaccination but you are discounting the actual scientific evidence in favour of anecdotal evidence. In other words you are deliberatly selecting evidence which is compeltely unscientific. So you DON’T agree with my standards of proof because you do not apply these standards of proof.
Vaccines work, they work very well and the proof of this is reduction in the instances of disease..
@wjestick
..however no vaccine is 100% effective. Measles vaccine will give around 95% immunity. My son, who was vaccinated, got measles because we have a Rudolph Steiner school nearby where a large proportion of kids don’t get vaccinated so they get measles out breaks and thus my son was exposed. He was unlucky enough to be in the 5%. If the Steiner parents had been responsible then my son would not have been exposed to their germ ridden offspring. My son suffered because of their stupidity.
@wjestick
What makes me laugh is that you accuse the scientific community of bad and practice when it suits your cause but buy hook line and sinker the pseudoscience and snake oil being peddled to you. Homeopaths, raw foodist, vitamin peddlers the anti GM movement and even the organic movement all make huge amounts of money by peddling fear about the big bad scientists/corporation. The more people they convince to fear science the more of their crap they can sell you. It just marketing.
@evilreligion
You made a good point, I acknowledged it. Then I asked you to do some research, instead you went into a rant that totally misrepresents my position.
I can see for you science is a religion, which you fanatically defend.
To me it is a method of investigation, a tool, but like any tool, only as good as the person wielding it.
You are locked into a paradigm of science v non-science, like republican v democrat or black v white. I can’t reach you in there.
Good luck
@wjestick
You are missing the point. I am merely pointing out that your selected anecdotal evidence is unreliable and unscientific. How do you know your sources are credible? How do you know they are using their tools of investigation well?How do you asses whether its merely coincidnce? How do you know the result is statistically relevant? The short answer is you don’t. All these sources of contamination exist in your supposed evidence this is what the peer review process seeks to remove….
@wjestick
… you say you are for proper investigation and tight controls and skeptical enquiry but you simply don’t apply this to bits of “evidence” that you happen to like. You are cherry picking and selecting unsupported, unverrified and unchecked data. I acknowledge that science sometimes get things wrong but it does so far less than pseudoscienice and snake oil merchants. Its a question of who you trust. Some fucking hippy telling you to eat raw food or the all the clever people?
@evilreligion
You are still trying to justify scientific method. It is not under attack, it is a good tool. But it is only as good as the hand wielding it.
Fact: Most medical research is privately funded.
Fact: Most FDA posts are regularly filled by staffers from big food and drug companies. Or resigning execs go to such companies.
Fact: Most medical schools get large donations from drug companies.
Tell me you are 100% sure that this much money is philanthropic.
@evilreligion
I am not talking about genuine scientific mistakes, those happen.
I am talking about corporations using the mantle of science to promote untruths. To exploit the public trust in science to deceive.
I eat cooked food. It could be killing me, but so could my computer! I eat raw food too, and natural pickles, and raw milk. If something disagrees with me, I stop.
No scientist, or hippy tells me what to do. They provide options, I think for myself.
Its really good!
@DrSpooglemon
Glycoproteins!
@wjestick
You had a specific question about how vaccines are tested. I can answer. The vaccines are injected into volunteers and blood is drawn at timepoints from baseline to some predetermined endpoint. The peripheral blood serum is tested for immunoreactivity to the target antigen. Sometimes by ELISA or FLISA, and sometimes by SPR. The strength of the generated response give molecular evidence of the protectiveness. That’s stage I.
Stage II involves challenging healthy volunteers with the antigen in isolation to see if an appropriate response is generated.
Stage III is usually a “whole pathogen” challenge.
Not every disease permits Stage III, and a rare few can’t be tested beyond Stage I. For example, you can’t expose people to tetanus toxoid to check the vaccine, so animals often have to substitute for human patients.
@wjestick
Ok its good you think for yourself. But neither you nor I are experts in immunology or medicine. You and I need to make a judgement as to which expert opinion is the most reliable. Whilst acknowledging possible source of corruption exist it is still a simple fact that the best, most rational bet is still with the scientific establishment. This establishment has an outstanding long record of success. It works and works very well as all our modern technology is testament to.
@C0nc0rdance That’s pushing it a bit. The protein component would still remain undigested…
@evilreligion
I respect your opinion. This debate has been interesting. As is often the case, we simply have different perspectives, with some elements in common.
@C0nc0rdance because it is easy, when the food goes to your stomach the enzymes are activated in that environment, with acid, and it is easily digested and quickly as the body dont spend all its own ferments/ you should do an experiment? and you will see that a fruit processed will stay in your stomach too long. when a human eats raw food he evacuates quickly as it is digested very quickly) i have also an apple on the table that is very long un-digested)
@C0nc0rdance and surely when an apple gets to the earth with humid it becomes digested afters some time and the seed are absorbed by the earth… but in our stomach we have an ability to activate and make the enzymes work faster. the nature is not stupid) it gives a fruit with an ability to keep itself inactivated so that you could have some time to eat it untill it is spoilt. and more-take a fried seed and put into the earth and you have nothing but a rotten seed.
I get what this guy is saying and in some cases i can side with him but you cannot cherry pick your information there are long term studdies sense the 1920 and even before that, that show what raw foods is all about. my freinds it is not about being vegan or vegitarian or any of those labels, its about eating the right foods for your body. the people who live the longest on this planet do not eat meat or dairy or processed carbohydrates. Its about eating a hollistic diet and thriving from it.
Do you have references to studies on Cyanobacteria (Spirulina – Arthrospira platensis / Arthrospira maxima) and other Blue-Greean algae, re: toxicity and/or human health? I’d be interested to know the risks / toxins – I know many people who use Spirulina supplement, and swear by it – but I have always suspected it was not what it’s made out to be…
@abyssquick
It can be a good source of proteins, but unfortunately carries some risk:
Adv Exp Med Biol. 2008;619:885-912.
“Toxin mixture in cyanobacterial blooms…”
“Unfortunately, traces of neurotoxins and protein phosphatases (inhibiting compounds) have been detected in BGAS [blue-green algae supplements], making these health supplements a good example for human exposure to a mixture of cyanobacterial toxins in a complex matrix.”
In fairness, though, most testing reveals little or no toxin in commercial preparations in the US.
Food Chem Toxicol. 2011 Jul;49(7):1560-4.
You certainly wouldn’t want to eat anything that doesn’t come from a reputable producer. Wild algal blooms produce neurotoxins than can kill in hours.
Concordance Question to you? Please Why do you post videos that are not at all uplifting, barely hold water when it comes to claims, Dude I can disprove every video you have, At first I wanted to support you and wish you the best, but now that I have investigated your channel I cant find anything of worth. Im sorry that my truth about you is so pure. Please will you begin to make good videos with actual facts which can be verified,I mean the circumcision one we all know was fake stats and graphs
