Being cute and chillin’ on my desk. My big boy gets all my luvin’ . Because of his disturbing propensity for urinary blockage from basic dry catfood, now mommy has to buy nearly all canned catfood and the best urinary tract mineral balanced dryfood for moistening. THE LIL’ BASTARD! Taking advantage of my love and devotion!
I have two cats and one of them needs special food for urinary tract health. For the past week we’ve been trying to get them to eat separately, but they just wouldn’t have it. The healthy cat is skinny to begin with it, and she doesn’t want to eat on schedule (they are used to food being available all the time). Is it okay if the healthy cat eats the special food for extended periods of time?
Thanks.

(Karen) Hi! Im veterinarian and Purina Cat Chow Mentor Doctor Karen Sueda. You know, one of the most remarkable things about kittens is how fast they grow. Within a short six months, they sure start to look like full-grown cats. But its important to remember theyre not full-grown until around one year of age. Before her first birthday, start preparing her for transition to adulthood. One of the important decisions youll make during this time is the selection of an adult food. Be sure to find a food that provides 100% complete and balanced nutrition for adult cats or cats of all ages under the standards set by AAFCO the organization that establishes the nutritional standards for pet food in the United States. Purina Cat Chow Complete Formula is a great choice. When it comes time to make the switch, do so gradually over a period of about seven to ten days to help avoid digestive upsets. Begin the changeover by giving her a small portion of the new food along with her present food. Gradually increase …
I have a ten year old male cat that is required to eat Hills Prescription Diet CD. I am considering moving to Germany, but I am unsure whether I can purchase my cat’s food abroad. Does anyone have any personal experience with this?

I know that this question has been asked before, and the usual answer is to mix old food with their new food, but that is NOT an option for me. My cat developed a food allergy and can no longer consume what he ate before.
I bought California Natural, both wet and dry; but he refuses to eat it so I have to force feed him by watering the wet food down and forcing him to eat it through an eyedropper.
My other cat will eat it; but the amount she consumes has drastically dropped.
First Question is, how can I get my cat with the allergies to eat his new food, without giving him the old food that made him gravely ill in the first place?
Second question, how can I encourage my other cat to eat more of the new food?
www.theultimatediet.com Weve chosen ingredients of the highest nutritional value for a pet, and left them in their raw state to maximize their absorption. Why raw? Because our pets need live foods that truly nourish them. Only raw foods provide this. Cooking destroys nutrients—including enzymes, vitamins and minerals. We use only hormone and antibiotic-free meats, plus organic ingredients—which provide denser nutrient levels than factory farmed ingredients.
My cat’s vet recommended Science Diet or Eukanuba with low ph. My cat had surgery several years ago for a blocked (crystals) urinary tract system. The vet at the time said he would always have to be on their special vet diet food (low ph Eukanuba or Science Diet). A new Vet has since taken her place and he has not given me a straight answer. I was wondering if anyone else knows of a food that is low in ph that can be fed to a cat that has had crystal blockage. Oh, before he had the crystal blockage, I was feeding him Friskies because that was all that he would eat. The vet told me that was what caused it; that and stress from getting a new dog addition to the family.
As Tipi and Tuck are scouring the office trash can, they come upon a device that might help Honey lose some weight. About Cat Clips This episode is part of the humorous “Cat Clips” series, which features the ongoing adventures of a group of cats in the New Jersey suburbs. The cats are avid fans of pop culture and fill their days discussing the latest celebrity gossip, political mishaps and topical entertainment related subject matter. They also engage in plenty of mystery and intrigue, as they continually try to scheme and outmaneuver each other, most often with comical results. Meet the Cats: Honey (aka Chase), an orange and white long-haired domestic, is the oldest female of the group, and loves to eat chocolate and other sweet treats. Often referred to as “Big Mama,” the Mother of the clan is not afraid to give her opinion on almost anything—whether you ask for it or not. (Later in the series, it’s discovered that Honey is actually a diabetic and so she must reluctantly give up her pension for popsicles and pastries in favor of daily insulin shots.) Trey is an all-black short-haired domestic cat who often looks at life through a cynical pair of eyes. Though he teases Honey relentlessly, he also feels a deep affection for her, and it soon becomes apparent that his tough exterior is mostly for show. Tipi arrives in Episode #36 to become the youngest female feline of the group. She is an extremely ambitious cat with only one thing on her mind—to become a huge mega-star …
